Built to test a useful hypothesis

About ShelfScout

ShelfScout is building Wednesday Watchlist for Australian shoppers. It compares supermarket prices before and after the weekly changeover, then ranks products whose shelf tickets may not yet reflect a higher checkout price.

The first goal is validation, not hype. A focused MVP will rank a small set of sharp overnight price rises, check those shelves in person and measure whether they produce more stale tickets than random products.

Price-data access, retailer terms, scanning-policy changes and faster ticket replacement could all limit the idea. ShelfScout will treat watchlists as predictions and report outcomes honestly; it will never promise that a product is free or that a retailer must provide a particular remedy.
